Tor des Géants

We had the privilege of producing a documentary capturing an extraordinary challenge: the participation of Bastien Peron in the legendary Tor des Géants. A project where sport becomes a vehicle for commitment and hope.

Over six days, in the heart of Italy’s Aosta Valley, Bastien took on one of the most demanding ultra-trail races in the world. An immense physical and mental challenge, driven by an ambition that goes far beyond athletic performance.

Through this adventure, Bastien committed to supporting the A Chacun Son Everest! association, with a clear goal: to raise €50,000 in donations to support children with cancer or leukemia, as well as women in remission from breast cancer.

Capturing this feat meant operating at altitude, on technical terrain, sometimes at night, in unpredictable weather conditions. Lightweight gear, controlled autonomy, rapid movement: the shoot itself became a challenge, to capture the effort and the truth of the emotions as closely as possible.

With no real rest, runners cross passes, refuges, and summits, facing fatigue, cold, sleep deprivation, and their own limits. The Tor is not just a race, it is a mental test, a complete immersion in the mountains.

Each step engages not only the body, but also the mind. Between solitude, solidarity, and pushing beyond one’s limits, the Tor des Géants reveals the rawest and most human side of ultra-trail.

The Tor des Géants is one of the most demanding ultra-trail races in the world, covering 300 kilometers and nearly 25,000 meters of elevation gain through the Italian Alps.

“Vincent and Christophe did more than tell the story of the project, they managed to capture the emotions you go through in an experience like this. Everything felt simple and natural, I can’t wait to prepare the next project with them!”

Photographing ultra-trail means accepting to work in the same conditions as the runners: altitude, unstable weather, rugged terrain, night, and fatigue. Every image is earned. Adaptation is constant.

“Filming Bastien on the Tor des Géants meant following a man confronting his limits. Our role was to capture his determination and those moments of truth where effort reveals what is most human.”
