This project taught us to slow down, to put the camera down, to listen, to live before filming. For a year, we didn’t seek spectacular images, but genuine gazes, silences, and simple gestures.
In the eyes of
Vincent, co-founder of LINKA, set off with his partner Julie on a year-long journey to meet little-known communities living in singular environments. Sometimes harsh, often poetic, always deeply human.
In the heart of remote villages, they spent several weeks sharing the daily lives of five children, taking the time to build a sincere and lasting connection with each of them.
From the jungles of Papua New Guinea to the polar nights of Iceland, from Indonesia’s maritime communities to the mountains of Iran, and on to the Namibian desert, each encounter became a lesson in resilience, simplicity, and humanity.
Set out to meet the children of the world.

cofondateur LINKA“This project deeply embodies LINKA’s values: sharing, listening, and connection to others. These personal journeys shape our perspective, refine our sensitivity, and enrich our creativity.”
This documentary is a true ode to tolerance. Humanist and deeply optimistic.
Finally, this journey was not just a documentary adventure. It was a human experience that continues, even today, to shape our perspective and the way we create.
Yuda – Indonésia
At 13, Yuda is learning the craft of fishing within the Bajo community. Between land and sea, he navigates alongside the elders, mastering the precise gestures of fishing and carrying on a tradition deeply connected to the ocean.
Véline – Papua New Guinea
At 14, Véline guides us through the lush jungle surrounding her village. Among rivers, dense vegetation, and ancestral traditions, she grows up in rhythm with nature, in a world where mutual support and community are essential.
“When I saw Julie and Vincent, I was really happy because I knew they were going to show us beautiful things.”
Urirasera – Namibia
A young Himba girl of the Namibian desert, Urirasera embodies strength and resilience. From an early age, she takes part in the life of the clan and cares for the livestock, in a mineral landscape where every resource is precious.
Shaudi – Iran
In the mountains of Iran, Shaudi, 10, shares a daily life shaped by simplicity and solidarity. Surrounded by arid peaks, she grows up in a demanding environment where family ties and connection to the land play a defining role in shaping her identity.
Astros – Iceland
At just 9 years old, Astros lives in the heart of Iceland’s wind-swept landscapes. A modern-day shepherd, she watches over her flock beneath the shifting light of the polar nights, learning responsibility and independence from an early age.
Beyond the images, it is the connections we build that give meaning to our work.
